TURKESTAN REGION WON THE GRAND PRIX AT THE REPUBLICAN RURAL SPORTS GAMES "AK BIDAI"
In honor of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, the VII republican rural sports games "Ak Bidai" were held in Aktau, where the strongest were determined. Boys and girls from different parts of the republic competed in international-level sports complexes. As a result, 195 points in the team competition were won by the Grand Prix athletes of the Turkestan region. This success really became one of the biggest victories of 2021.
More than 2000 athletes from 14 regions of Kazakhstan took part in the "Rural Olympiad", which takes place every four years. The teams of the region competed in 14 sports. Namely: tenge ilu, zhamby atu, audarispak, kusbegilik, volleyball, mini-football, kazaksha kures, togyzkumalak, asyk atu, kettlebell lifting, arm wrestling, table tennis, summer Presidential all-around and kickboxing.
Rural sports games, the purpose of which is to promote mass sports among the population and increase public interest in sports, were first held in 2000 in Astana. Now "Ak Bidai" passes through the Olympic system every four years. At previous competitions, representatives of the South Kazakhstan region have repeatedly won the Grand Prix. Athletes of the Turkestan region have maintained this trend.
In Aktau, Turkestanis won a gold medal in Kazaksha kures. In addition, our countrymen became winners in audarispak, and the masters of hand-to-hand combat also brought gold to the piggy bank of our region.
Togyzkumalak masters also showed a good game. Turkestanis showed a master class in the tenge ilu and zhamby atu competition.
It is worth noting that there is a special merit of the mayor of the region Umirzak Shukeyev, who created all the necessary conditions for the preparation and good result of the Turkestan region national team. The staffing of the teams with qualified and strong athletes was also not without the participation of the head of the regional department of physical culture and sports Kanat Zholdykarayev. The painstaking work of the coaches has also borne fruit. The students of the Turkestan Regional School of National Sports, headed by director Gani Akhmetbayev, showed their strength and good technique.
Turkestanis have achieved no less success in other sports. According to sayatshylyk, Turkestanis won bronze, and in the team competition they became silver medalists in kettlebell lifting. The men's volleyball team took third place.
In the rural sports games "Ak Bidai", the team of the Almaty region, which scored 183 points, took second place, and the athletes of the Kyzylorda region with 166 points took third place. In 2025, the republican rural sports games "Ak Bidai" will be held in the Almaty region.
