TURKESTAN: MORE THAN 20 KILOGRAMS OF FISH WERE CAUGHT IN ZHETYKOL

The participants of the international tournament "Turan Fest" produced more than 22 kilograms of fish. The international fishing tournament "Zhetikol" in the Otyrar district of Turkestan region has ended. The unique fishing competition brought together 17 teams from all over Kazakhstan, as well as from near and far abroad. Teams from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan competed in the Turkestan region. The participants from seven countries gathered in Zhetikol were greeted by deputy akim of Turkestan region Saken Kalkamanov, representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Fish Inspection. Such festivals will contribute to the development of tourism in the region, deputy akim of the region Saken Kalkamanov noted.

The participants of the tournament swam spinning on a boat without a motor and fished. The festival lasted two days. The winners were determined by the weight of the fish caught. According to the results of the international competition, the Grand Prix was won by Kostanay residents Dmitry Misyuk and Sergey Dered. The weight of the fish caught by the winners was 6 kilograms 385 grams. The second place was taken by Danil Korotovsky from Astana and Renat Koshekov.

The third place went to the residents of Karaganda Olga and Alexander Korovyakov. Olga Korovyakova is the only female participant, and she is a candidate for master of sports in sport fishing, has 25 years of experience in this field. In order to further develop ecological tourism in Turkestan and other regions of Kazakhstan, it is now planned to traditionally hold an international tournament "Turan Fest". A sports fishing festival in Turkestan is planned to be held annually. They also intend to organize regional and republican competitions here.
