NEW RESERVOIRS ARE BEING BUILT ON THE TERRITORY OF TURKESTAN

Mayor of the region Umirzak Shukeyev answered questions from journalists at an off-site briefing organized by the Central Communications Service at the special site of the “Farab” library in Turkestan. In order to improve the ecological situation in the city, the construction of large water bodies has begun. As a result, the SHTP will receive an additional 200 million m3 of irrigation water.

As a result of the major repairs carried out on the Turkestan main canal, more than 60 million m3 of water will be saved, 8 km of urban areas will be improved. Previously, irrigation water was filtered out by 43%, today, as a result of concreting 36 km of the canal, more than 22 million m3 of water is saved, and 1.5 km of territory along the canal is landscaped.

"According to the project" Reconstruction of the Zhetikol lake system", the height of the dam was increased to 34 meters, and this year it was possible to collect 250 million m3 of water. I would like to note that this project will have a positive impact on improving the environmental situation in the Turkestan region in the future. Even today, you can see the change in the fauna of the lake and the accumulation of birds.

Within the framework of the adopted project "Modernization of the Zhetikol lake system", the dam has risen by 34 km and already this year has reached 250 million dollars m3 of water has accumulated. This project will have a positive impact on improving the environmental situation in the Turkestan region in the future. Even today, it is possible to observe changes in the fauna of the lake territory and the appearance of natural bird clusters. In addition, projects are being developed for the construction of a machine channel from the Syrdarya River and the construction of the Sarkyrama reservoir. These projects are of great importance for providing the region with water, " Umirzak Shukeyev said.

At the same time, 34 million m3 of irrigation water is already flowing through the constructed reservoir "Kensai - Koskorgan – 2". Currently, the height of the large dam has been increased to 26 meters and concreted by 40%. As a result, this year we managed to collect 5 million m3 of water and prevent floods.
