The problem will not be solved without covering the cost of water supply in the water sector. At the same time, we support raising the tariff at a fair price. Tariff increase-helps to solve some problematic issues. This was stated by the farmers at a meeting with representatives of the RSE "Kazvodkhoz" in the Turkestan region.
Representatives of RSE "Kazvodkhoz" met with farmers of Shardara and Zhetysay districts. The meeting discussed the main change of this year - why the tariff for irrigation water has increased.
According to the representatives of the institution, the previous tariff did not allow for the normal operation and maintenance of water management and irrigation systems, as well as to repay the principal debt and remuneration. In addition, due to low wages, it is difficult to retain qualified personnel. The previous tariff for two years brought a total loss of 4 billion tenge.
"In order to retain personnel and use the facilities efficiently and fully cover the necessary operating costs, we were forced to approve a fair tariff in order to reduce social tension among water sector employees. Here, from May 1, 2021, a fair average tariff was approved - 66 kopecks/m3 (without VAT), " said Aslan Zhenisov, a representative of the RSE "Kazvodkhoz".
It should be noted that the majority of farmers who took part in the meeting supported the increase in tariffs. According to the chairman of the farm "Perdebay and K" Kablan Zhumabekov, the increase in the tariff for irrigation water is very important for farmers.
"I think it is right to increase the cost of the tariff. All this happens until the water supply costs are covered. It also helps to solve some problematic issues. For example, along with attracting high-quality personnel to the water sector, it is possible to restore worn-out water supply systems. In turn , this is very important for farmers. I am sure that all the peasants of our district will support this initiative, " Kablan Zhumabekov said.
Recall that in Kazakhstan, from May 1, new tariffs for water supply through channels were approved. Now farmers pay 66 kopecks for 1 cubic meter of water.
