IN THE TURKESTAN REGION, A WOMAN INFECTED WITH COVID-19 GAVE BIRTH TO A HEALTHY CHILD

In the Turkestan region, COVID-19 was detected in a 20-year-old pregnant woman. At the 39th week of pregnancy, she was admitted to the Sairam Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital with symptoms of ARVI. The result of her tests showed that the patient has a coronavirus infection. The doctors held a consultation and prescribed treatment. As a result, a pregnant woman gave birth to a healthy baby weighing 3.4 kg. The baby was immediately tested for coronavirus, the result was negative. Currently, the condition of the mother and child is assessed by doctors as stable. This is the first pregnancy of a young mother.

It is worth noting that last year, 122 pregnant women infected with coronavirus infection gave birth safely in the region. Since the beginning of the year, about 15 thousand children have been born in the Turkestan region, and in 2020 - 61,274. The region is the leader in the birth rate in the republic.
