MORE THAN 100 THOUSAND PEOPLE BECAME RESIDENTS OF THE SAURAN DISTRICT

A solemn event dedicated to the creation of a new district was held in the village of Shornak, the district center of Sauran district. Akim of the Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev met with the elders of the village of Shornak on the occasion of the formation of the Sauran district and congratulated them on the historic event. The head of the region thanked all the participants of this noble cause.

"I congratulate you on the formation of the Sauran district! Yesterday, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a historic Decree on the formation of the Sauran district. Sauran, which was once the capital of Ak Orda, has regained its historical status. I believe that the assignment of the name of the medieval city of Sauran to the new district, whose history is intertwined with Turkestan, located along the Great Silk Road, is a special event that pleased the country on the eve of Nauryz," the mayor of the region stressed.

The administrative center of Sauran district will be the village of Shornak. The rural districts of Shaga, Zhana Ikan, Eski Ikan, Ushkayyk, Yassy, Orangay, Karashyk, Zhuynek, Babaykorgan, Shornak, Zhibek Zholy, and Maidantal were withdrawn from the city of Kentau. A special commission is responsible for the implementation of all measures related to the creation of a new district.

In his speech, the head of the region spoke about the development plans of the Sauran district. Its creation will improve the quality of public services in the localities that are part of the new administrative unit. Priority will be given to solving social issues and creating jobs. Most importantly, the local authorities will do everything for the intensive development of the agricultural sector. This will give a new impetus to the development of the village of Shornak as a district center.

To form the administrative structure, a district maslikhat will first be created. Further, in agreement with the maslikhat, the district akim will be appointed, the management system and the budget will be approved. The district offices of law enforcement agencies and ministries will start working.

In addition, according to the akim of the region, in the next 1-2 years it is planned to build and put into operation administrative and social facilities. In the meantime, state institutions and the district akimat will temporarily rent premises in other buildings.

"Dear residents of the district! For the socio-economic development of the new district, the corresponding work is underway in the region. Once again, I congratulate all of you on this historic event. I am sure that you will also make every effort to increase the potential of the district, " the head of the region said.

It is worth noting that the population of the newly created district exceeds 100 thousand people. The total area of the district of 12 rural districts, formerly part of the city of Kentau, with the administrative center in the village of Shornak, will be about 650 thousand hectares.
