THE ITALIAN ENERGY COMPANY HAS STARTED CONSTRUCTION OF THE LARGEST SES IN THE TURKESTAN REGION

The solar power plant, located in the Turkestan region, is the first major investment of the international multinational energy company "Eni" in the solar energy sector of the country. The total cost of the investment project is 12 billion tenge. Near the village of Shauildir, Otyrar district, work has begun on the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 50 MW. The ceremony was attended by deputy akim of the Turkestan region Meirzhan Myrzaliyev and a delegation from Italy.
"The region has all the opportunities for the development of alternative types of energy, the active introduction of technologies that use solar and wind energy. Modernization and development of electricity sources is one of the priority areas of the regional economy. In the Turkestan region, there is a shortage of electricity of 320 MW. In this regard, to date, 10 investment projects have been implemented for the needs of the region in the direction of the construction of solar and hydroelectric power stations," M. Myrzaliyev said.
The power plant, which is being built by Arm Wind LLP , a local subsidiary of the international company "Eni", covers an area of 100 hectares. The company will build more than 100,000 photovoltaic panels, a substation and 8 km of overhead power lines. "Eni's" first major investment project in the country's solar energy sector will produce its first electricity in the 4th quarter of this year. The full implementation of this project will be completed by the beginning of 2022. In this way, the company will contribute to the gradual decarbonization of the country's energy sector. The new power plant will avoid greenhouse gas emissions of more than 1.2 million tons of CO2 equivalent over the entire life of the power plant.
Recall that 9 large solar power plants and 6 hydroelectric power plants are being built in the Turkestan region. Among them are "Arm Wind" LLP, "Hevel Kazakhstan" LLP, "KZT Solar" LLP. This year, it is planned to build solar power stations with a capacity of 120 MW in the amount of 52 billion tenge in the Turkestan region.
