Akim of the Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev reported to the members of the regional Public Council. In his speech, he focused on the main directions of the region's development. Considering that the consequences of the pandemic, which have made changes in the life of the country, the head of the region noted that in general, the Turkestan region completed the past year successfully. It is noted about the growth and receipt of taxes. According to the growth of the gross regional product, the region occupies the 1st place in the republic among the regions. The budget funds have been fully disbursed. Significant progress is being made in the field of agriculture. In terms of attracting investment, the region summed up the results of the year with very high indicators. The leading branch of agriculture. The head of the region reported on the work done in the field of industry, entrepreneurship, agriculture, investment, construction, as well as in the social sphere, tourism, and the work carried out within the framework of infrastructure development and the city of Turkestan.
"In two years, not a little has been done in Turkestan. The spiritual capital of the country is becoming an international city. We will make every effort to further develop it. This year is a landmark for our region. The expansion of the borders of Kentau, the increase in the population, the dynamic development and the rational management of the territory caused some difficulties. In this regard, a proposal was made to create a new district, assign the name "Sauran" to the new district, continue the historical medieval continuity and relate to the concept of ancient Turkestan, located along the Great Silk Road," said Umirzak Shukeyev, congratulating the Turkestanis on the formation of the 17th district.
It should be noted that the Sauran district is planned to be created on the eve of the celebration of Nauryz. The akim of the region also spoke about the difficulties caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic and about last year's emergency situation in the Maktaaral district. In addition, "Front Offices" and "Open Akimats"were opened in all districts and cities. During the pandemic, a special "Call Center" was opened, which works around the clock in a 24/7 format at the number 109. By the end of 2020, more than 63 thousand appeals from residents were received, which is 26% less than in the previous year.
"In general, a lot of work was done in the region last year to improve the quality of life of the population, the socio-economic development of the region. We set ourselves even bigger tasks, " the head of the region said.
