THE REASONS FOR THE RISE IN THE PRICE OF HOUSING AND CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS WERE DISCUSSED IN THE TURKESTAN REGION

The rise in housing prices cannot be allowed without reason. This was discussed at the expanded meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 26, 2021 as a special order of the Head of State. Following the results of this event, a meeting was held in the akimat of the Turkestan region under the chairmanship of the deputy head of the region Meirzhan Myrzaliyev. The meeting was attended by representatives of local executive bodies, construction companies and manufacturers of building materials.

Meirzhan Myrzaliyev noted that the construction of facilities in the Turkestan region is in full swing. Despite the increase in the cost of building materials, the main goal remains not to raise prices for the final consumer for housing and social facilities.

More than 50 enterprises are engaged in the construction industry in the region. Since the beginning of this year, they have produced products worth 21.2 billion tenge. This is 137.9% more than last year. The share of the construction industry in the manufacturing industry is more than 8%.

Danabek Mahatov, deputy head of the Department of the Agency for the protection and development of competition in the Turkestan Region, in turn, explained that the unjustified rise in the price of building materials entails responsibility for violating the antimonopoly legislation.

During the meeting, the participants also discussed the reasons for the unjustified growth of construction materials. Following the meeting, the deputy akim of the region instructed the local executive bodies to strictly control the prices of construction materials. He ordered to create a working group, and within one week to check all enterprises for the production of building materials.
