CANCER RATES HAVE DECREASED IN TURKESTAN REGION

The Turkestan region occupies the last 17th place in the republic in terms of oncological diseases. Thanks to the Comprehensive plan to combat cancer, the region ranks 16th in the structure of mortality in the republic. This is the greatest achievement of oncologists in the region.
Last year, in the Turkestan region, 72210 women were examined for breast cancer, 67453-for cervical cancer, and another 82,533 people for rectal cancer. Screening coverage was 100%. This was made possible thanks to the extensive work of primary health care institutions.
On February 4, all district hospitals and polyclinics of the Turkestan region held an "Open Day" dedicated to the World cancer day. As a result, 360 people received a consultation with an oncologist, mammologist, and gynecologist, 152 underwent ultrasound, and 25 people underwent an endoscopic examination of the stomach, and another 47 women were screened for cervical cancer.
