223 WATER UTILITIES TO BE RENEWED IN MAKTAARAL DISTRICT

In Maktaaral district, work on the PUID-2 project is in full swing. The large-scale project will be implemented in 3 areas covering an area of 40 thousand hectares. As a result, 223 canals, 208 drainage channels, and 149 vertical drains will be overhauled and reconstructed.
The Azerbaijani company "Akilik Group" is carrying out construction works in the first direction of the project. Currently, the construction of 44 channels with a total length of 70 thousand km, 2 vertical drainage wells, 16 discharges with a length of 37 thousand km has been completed. In Enbekshi and Zhanazhol rural districts, along with branches of three channels with a length of 147 thousand km, 49 pieces of vertical drainage and drainage systems with a length of 191 thousand km will be overhauled. Also, 4 pieces of vertical drains will be repaired in the district center of the village of Myrzakent. 5350 hectares of Enbekshinsky rural district, 2650 hectares of Zhanazholsky rural district and 8000 hectares of the territory of the settlement of Myrzakent will be cleared of ground water.
16,477 hectares of areas in the rural districts of Irzhar, Birlik and Zhambyl are being cleaned from underground water. The construction work is carried out by the Iranian company "Saad Ariana tunnel". Currently, the construction of 35 channels with a total length of 58 thousand km has been completed. Construction work has been completed on 93 observation wells and drilling on 61 vertical drainage wells. In general, along route II, together with branches of 3 channels with a length of 337,35 km, 100 pieces of vertical drains and 262 kilometers of drainage channels are undergoing major repairs.
In the third direction of the PUID-2 project, the Israeli company "Tahal Consulting Engineering" is carrying out major repairs of canal and 130,391 km of water intakes with a length of 307,928 km. To date, concrete pouring works have been carried out on 9 thousand km of 8 channels, which is 27 thousand km. In addition, works on cleaning 8 discharges with a total length of 56 thousand km were carried out on 50,583 km.
