TURKISTAN: RESIDENTS WITH DISABILITIES IN KENTAU PLAN TO START MANUFACTURING FURNITURE

In Kentau, people with disabilities started manufacturing furniture. In the near future, they intend to put their furniture on sale. All manufacturing work will be carried out in a furniture shop opened in a single-industry town.

The project is implemented within the framework of the state social order of the Department of public development of the Turkestan region. Within the framework of the project "developing the potential of youth with disabilities" of the public Association "Bereke" and strengthening labor relations and promoting sustainable development of society, the order was received and the NGO "Eco Atameken"started working.

The city of Kentau and surrounding villages have a population of 5,146. The main goal is to improve the skills and employment of young people with disabilities, prevent alienation from society, and strengthen labor relations.

In this workshop, two volunteers will teach people with disabilities how to make furniture. Students of the regional special professional College will receive a professional education here, pass an internship and get an opportunity for further employment.
