A briefing was held on the topic of state support for entrepreneurs and stabilization of prices for socially important food products in the region during the state of emergency in the country and prolonged quarantine measures. According to the head of the regional Department of entrepreneurship and trade Nurbakyt Imankulov, there is no shortage of food and unjustified price increases in the region.
"The pandemic, as we know, has led to the temporary suspension of trade facilities and increased prices for goods, limiting demand from the population. However, prices for socially important food products are under daily control. The Commission continues to work on stabilizing prices for socially important food products and mobile groups. There is reason to believe that the situation is stable, " the head of the Department said.
According to statistics, among the 19 major cities of the republic, the city of Turkestan ranks 13th in terms of pricing for socially important food products. The issue of preventing the growth of prices for socially important food products is not removed from the agenda. For this purpose, the stabilization commission is constantly working. Thus, according to the minutes of the commission's meeting of November 24, 2020, public procurement for the purchase of an additional 403.4 tons of food products (buckwheat-50 tons, cabbage - 101 tons, pasta - 32 tons, potatoes - 59 tons, carrots - 101.8 tons, sugar - 53 tons, beef - 6.6 tons) was announced by the way of requesting prices through the stabilization fund.
