In early August of this year, the Commissioner for human rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elvira Azimova, was contacted by relatives of a citizen of Kazakhstan with a request to help him return to his Homeland. At the end of last year, he was detained in Russia for violating the migration order due to the loss of his identity documents and financial resources. This event precluded the possibility of an independent return to the Homeland. Unfortunately, due to the prolonged quarantine against the background of the pandemic, his return by the migration services of the two countries on the basis of the current agreement between the two States on readmission was delayed for 8 months.
Thanks to the propmt interaction of the Kazakh Ombudsman with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation, the ministries of internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, it was possible to resolve the protracted issue within three weeks. The Kazakh citizen returned home safely on August 26 this year..
Hereby we express our gratitude to the Minister of internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Zamanbekovich Turgumbaev, Minister of internal Affairs of Russia Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kolokoltsev, Minister of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Beskenuly Tleuberdi and Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation Yermek Bedelbaevich Kosherbaev for prompt cooperation in protecting the rights of Kazakhstani citizens in the territory of other States, guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
