More than 300 Kazakhstanis released from prison during the emergency returned home

The Minister of the Interior Committee of the penal system developed a special algorithm for escorting people released during the state of emergency, which is valid today.

322 ex-convicts were released from places of imprisonment during quarantine, of which 282 released persons arrived at their place of residence accompanied by employees of the penitentiary system, and the rest were brought to relatives and friends or placed in resocialization centers and public boarding houses, the deputy chairman UIS Committee Ayubaev Meiram Akatovich.

The decision to escort those released from correctional facilities was made in connection with the difficulty of movement of people and vehicles between cities, as well as compliance with quarantine measures and preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.

First of all, we agreed on the procedure for crossing checkpoints and worked out travel routes together with the operational headquarters of the regions. To escort the released were involved employees of institutions and probation services.

Throughout the journey, those released were provided with food and “protective equipment”.

During the quarantine period, it was from the East Kazakhstan region that 187 ex-convicted persons were released who, thanks to probation officers, reached their relatives home without any barriers.
