The Ombudsman and the Republican College of Legal Advisors join forces to protect human rights and freedoms

Today, Human Rights Ombudsman Elvira Azimova and Chairman of the Republican Board of Legal Advisors Serik Akylbay signed a memorandum of cooperation to combine efforts in the field of human rights and freedoms.

С.Akylbay noted the timeliness and relevance of this cooperation. According to him, it will improve the legal literacy of the population and increase public confidence in the Ombudsman Institution.

Partnership in the framework of the Memorandum is aimed at building work to facilitate the restoration of violated rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to provide quality legal assistance, and has the following objectives:

- exchange experience in the field of restoration of violated human rights and freedoms;

- implement joint projects and assist in the development of draft regulations in this area;

- advanced training of employees of the Office of the Ombudsman and lawyers of the Republican College of Legal Advisors;

- implementation of other measures to improve the mechanisms for protecting the constitutional rights of man and citizen.

In conclusion, E.Azimova thanked her colleagues and stressed the importance of consolidating efforts and building partnerships to ensure quality legal advice and systemic measures to protect the rights of people.
