About the meeting of the Association of Ombudsmen of the Turkic States and National Human Rights Institutions

July 28, 2022 – Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova took part in the next online meeting of the Association of Human Rights Ombudsmen and National Human Rights Institutions of the Turkish States (TURKOMB).

At the online meeting, the ombudsmen and representatives of the national human rights institutions of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan discussed the preparation of the Association's action plan, as well as the implementation of other organizational issues.

During the meeting, the importance of organizing educational events and study visits among the members of the association in order to exchange experience in the field of effective protection of human rights was noted.

Following the discussion, the participants voiced a number of proposals to strengthen the activities of the Association. The meeting highlighted the role of the Institute in the preparation of the Association's activity plan, as well as the implementation of other organizational issues.
