Six grant projects to strengthen the institution of the family are being implemented in Kazakhstan
Vice-Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Umarov spoke about measures to strengthen the institution of the family.
«To strengthen family values and develop the institution of the family, the Ministry of Information and Public Development is implementing six grant projects in 2021. The first is the institutionalization of measures to strengthen family values among young people. The second is the provision of advisory services on the preservation of reproductive health among young people. The third is the development and implementation of measures to improve the activities of crisis centers for the prevention of domestic violence. The fourth is the development and implementation of a set of measures to support families with children in difficult life situations. The fifth is a map of gender needs and requirements. The sixth one is financial literacy begins in the family, it is such an online project», Askar Umarov said at an international conference on the topic «Family Institute and family policy in Kazakhstan: problems, trends, and prospects».
According to him, to strengthen the institution of family protection and create conditions for it, as well as promote gender equality, the Concept of Family and Gender Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030 was adopted by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2016.
«The Head of State, within the framework of the Address of September 1, 2021, was entrusted with updating this Concept of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A working group has been formed to implement this order. It includes members of Parliament, members of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President, experts, representatives of non-governmental and international organizations, and interested government agencies», the speaker concluded.
