On July 30, 2021, Kazakh non - governmental organizations-OF "Rodnik" (Almaty), Taldykorgan Regional Center for Women's Support, NGO "Meirim" (Aktau), "Women's Support Center" Petropavlovsk, NGO "Sana Sezim "(Shymkent), ICC" Daris "(Aktobe), OF" Public Position", NGO" Phoenix "Development and Adaptation Center, NGO" Society of Women-Small Entrepreneurs "held an action dedicated to the World the day of the fight against human trafficking. During the day, NGOs, in cooperation with citizens, partner institutions and police authorities, posted videos and information on this topic on social networks, held consultations of citizens. It should be noted that every year the number of participants in the action is increasing, which was initiated by representatives of the civil sector who provide assistance to citizens, including migrants who find themselves in a difficult life situation.
World Day against Human Trafficking is celebrated annually on July 30. For the first time, the decision to declare this date as the International Day against Human Trafficking was made on December 18, 2013, and officially enshrined in the UN General Assembly resolution "Improving coordination of efforts to combat human trafficking".
The resolution was adopted to intensify international efforts aimed at COUNTERING such a phenomenon as human trafficking.
This initiative is aimed at attracting the attention of the general public to the problem of human trafficking and its consequences, the situation of victims of human trafficking, and the protection of their rights. The World Day is intended to remind of the importance and necessity of coordinated and consistent actions in the fight against this phenomenon, with the unwavering observance of fundamental human rights, both at the national and international levels.
Every year, on July 30, a flash mob with the slogan "I am against human trafficking" is held online in Kazakhstan. The active participants of the action are the youth of the country. Young people share information about the risks of forced labor and the fight against human trafficking, talk about the importance of legalizing labor relations, as well as how to avoid vulnerable situations, where you can turn for help and legal advice.
In the regions, employees of the territorial bodies of social protection, criminal police, culture, and sports support this action on an ongoing basis.
With each action, the number of participants and partners who share the civil position of condemning human trafficking as a serious crime against a person, his life, rights, and freedoms, expands. For example, this year the Zhambyl Youth Library became a new partner of the civil sector in the Zhambyl region.
NGOs from Central Asian countries have also joined this campaign: Non-governmental organizations "Smile", "Grace", "Aimira", "Oasis", "El Agartuu" have joined the Kyrgyz Republic, and organizations "Istiqboli Avlod" and "Nihol" are participating in the campaign from Uzbekistan.
We congratulate all the participants of the campaign and on the sustainability of the project and the expansion of the number of supporters of the campaign. As the ancient Greek poet Hesiod noted: "That word does not disappear completely, which is repeated by many among the people".
