The Ministry of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan has recently received a huge number of requests related to the current situation at the customs checkpoints of Kazakhstan and China.
For example, in the area of the "Nur Zholy" automobile checkpoint in Almaty region, which is adjacent to the Chinese "Khorgos" checkpoint (XUAR, China), since the beginning of the pandemic, there has been a daily accumulation of about 1,700 empty vehicles on the way from Kazakhstan to China.
The main reason is the increased sanitary control measures introduced by the Chinese side.
In order to resolve this situation, the Ministry of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan held negotiations with the Ministry of Commerce of the people's Republic of China.
Thus, following the results of the 11th meeting of the Subcommittee on trade and economic cooperation of the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation Committee, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the people's Republic of China Mr. Yu noted the need to address this issue. In addition, in order to assess the complexity of the situation, the Deputy Minister of China will personally visit the Kazakh-Chinese border. At the same time, Mr. Yu instructed the relevant departments of the PRC, whose functions include border control, to carry out the corresponding work in an accelerated manner.
It should be noted that the state revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan is already working on this issue. The developed proposals of the SRC to increase the capacity of checkpoints have already been sent to the Main customs administration of the people's Republic of China and the people's government of Xinjiang.
