Kazakhstan's fertilizer producers have kept the Ukrainian market

Ukraine has completed safeguard investigation against imports of fertilizer without application of measures. The Ukrainian market is one of the main markets for fertilizers produced by Kazakh companies Kazphosphate LLP and KazAzot JSC.

It should be noted that the average annual export of Kazakhstan to Ukraine of mineral fertilizers is 110 thousand tons worth about 41 million us dollars. The closure of such a market could have a very negative impact on domestic enterprises.

During the entire period of investigation, the Ministry of trade and integration of Kazakhstan worked closely with the authorized body of Ukraine, representing the interests of Kazakhstani plants.

At the initiative of the Kazakh trade Ministry, the issue of granting quotas for Kazakh fertilizers or removing Kazakh goods from the measure was considered. Also, the Kazakh side did not exclude the possibility of challenging the decision of the authorized body of Ukraine in court. However, these arguments and the situation in the Ukrainian industry had their effect and protective measures were not taken in the end.

As a result of this work, Kazakh companies will be able to continue exporting to the traditional market.
