The decision of the Turksib court of Almaty on the refund of the cost of tickets for Bek air flights

Today, on June 17, 2020, the Turksib court of Almaty has satisfied the claim of the consumer protection Committee of the Ministry of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the KPPC) against the airline "Bek air" JSC for the refund of the cost of tickets for canceled flights, in full.

KZPP represented the interests of more than 900 people, the amount of the claim was 54 210 519 tenge.

A day earlier, during the debate, the Prosecutor, participating third parties, as well as the applicants themselves, whose interests are represented by the KPPC, supported the claims.
Claims of the KPPC:
1. Recognize the right of consumers of services of JSC "Bek air" to refund the full cost of previously purchased tickets for flights that were canceled through no fault of the consumer
2. to Force the Respondent to reimburse the full cost of previously purchased tickets for flights that were canceled through no fault of the consumer.
3. Collect from JSC" Bek air " the amount paid for air tickets in favor of consumers.

After the court decision comes into force, the KPPC will assist in the prompt return of funds to consumers.

We remind that the case was considered from February 2020.

KZPP, as an authorized body, will continue to protect Kazakhstanis and assist in the restoration of violated consumer rights.
