The EAEU will introduce an assessment of the impact of Eurasian integration on the economies of the member states

At the initiative of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a methodology for assessing the impact of integration processes on the development of the economies of the EAEU member states is being developed.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will use the tools of country and intercountry input-output tables.

Using this methodology, calculations of the total effect of integration on the economies of the EAEU member states will be carried out.

It will also make it possible to calculate the contribution to GDP of indicators of mutual trade in goods and services, mutual investments and labor migration.

The study and use of the experience of the «five» of the EAEU in the future can be used in the calculation of the national intersectoral balance, and the relevance of the methodology for assessing the development of national economies and the EAEU as a whole is also not excluded.

Expert discussions on the draft Methodology are currently underway.

The approval of the methodology itself is planned before the end of this year.
