World metrology day

Dear friends!

On may 20, Kazakhstan metrologists together with the world professional community celebrate world Metrology day. The holiday is dedicated to the date of the signing in 1875 in Paris of the Metric Convention, which laid the Foundation for global cooperation in the field of measurement science in industrial, commercial and public applications.

I would like to emphasize that today Kazakhstan has an effective metrological infrastructure that is recognized at the international level.

According to the established tradition, The international Bureau of weights and measures has defined the motto of 2020-measurements for global trade.
I would like to note the relevance of the chosen topic for Kazakhstan. For the first time in our country, the Ministry of trade and integration was established in June last year, which indicates the importance for the state of national brands and products entering the world markets.

It is difficult to overestimate the role of Metrology in promoting fair trade, confidence in the issued certificates for products, increasing competitiveness and ensuring international recognition of Kazakh products.

Considering that Metrology, along with accreditation, standardization and conformity assessment, is one of the key components of the national quality system, the Ministry continues to develop the industry.
