The Minister of Trade and Integration met with residents of Mangistau region

The meeting was attended by more than 200 entrepreneurs and residents of the region. During the working trip, Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev visited a number of production facilities, familiarized himself with their work and listened to the proposals of entrepreneurs on further development of small and medium-sized businesses.

The minister's visit began with a visit to the vegetable storage facility of «Kaz Fruit Company». The company stores about 6 thousand tons of vegetables and fresh fruits in its modern warehouses.

«Vegetable storage facilities need a good ventilation system, specific air temperature and humidity. We have taken all these requirements into account. There are truck scales, trucks arrive, we weigh them at once, and store them according to the terms. Then we send it to retail chains, markets in our region and two regions - Ural and Atyrau».

The next object was the wholesale and distribution center «Aktau» under construction. The total area of the center is 40 thousand m2. The storage capacity is 78 thousand tons, of which 20 thousand tons fall on the climatic warehouse. The enterprise plans to create more than 200 jobs.

According to enterprise director Bekzat Zhetkizgenov, the construction of wholesale and distribution centers is being carried out at the expense of a private investor. The facility is planned to be completed next year.

«The construction of our own vegetable storage facilities allows us to completely or partially refuse the services of intermediaries and choose a suitable price at any time of the year to sell quality products from the warehouse», - said the head of the enterprise. - Taking into account our storage capacities, we would like to cooperate with large retail chains of the country».

According to the Akimat of Mangistau region, this issue has already been taken into consideration. Together with the Committee of Trade of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, negotiations are underway to attract large retail chains, the main requirement of which is the presence of wholesale and distribution centers in the region.

In conclusion, the Minister of Trade noted that now amendments are being made to the national legislation, in terms of reorientation of large wholesale turnover through wholesale and distribution centers.

«The opening of such centers in the region will cause direct interest of retail chains themselves, as one of the main problems for them is the lack of storage capacity. The creation of wholesale and distribution centers promotes the development of civilized trade formats», - summed up Arman Shakkaliev.
