Chinese construction conglomerate plans to invest in construction in Kazakhstan

Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin and CEO of «Beijing Huanju Commercial Management Co.» (a subsidiary of «Wanda Group») discussed investment opportunities in the construction of large facilities in Kazakhstan in Beijing Dean I.

«Wanda Group» is a Chinese multinational conglomerate company that ranks among the 500 largest corporations in the world. Specializes in real estate transactions, investments, entertainment, healthcare and high technology. Currently, the company has 286 hotels in 180 cities around the world.

The company is interested in investing in the construction of a five-star hotel, commercial complexes, parking lots and other large facilities in Astana.

The Minister of Trade and Integration proposed to transfer the sketches of projects to the Kazakh side for consideration at the highest level.

«Your projects in Astana should become a model for other construction companies. I think it will be an ecosystem where a person is comfortable to be: a residential complex, a school, a kindergarten, a recreational area, a shopping center, a parking lot, a cinema and other facilities. Astana is the fastest growing city in Kazakhstan. And real estate here must meet the requirements», — Serik Zhumangarin stressed and suggested considering the construction of modern shopping and entertainment centers in major cities of Kazakhstan.

«There is not enough such infrastructure in the big cities of Kazakhstan. Today, the general development plan of Kunayev has already been adopted, in the west in Aktobe the number has reached 600 thousand people, in the south it is Shymkent, Kyzylorda is developing at a good pace, in the north – Kostanay, in the east – Ust–Kamenogorsk, where more than 1 million people live in the region. I suggest starting with trade investments, in this regard, MTI will accompany you everywhere. If you are interested, we can offer development projects in other cities of Kazakhstan» — the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
