The National Accreditation Center has accepted the first application in the history of the domestic quality system for accreditation from a potential certification body for products, the production process of products and services of the Halal certification body.
To date, an assessment group has been formed, which includes a representative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, and work has begun on the accreditation of a potential Halal conformity assessment body in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Accreditation, national standards and procedural documents of the NAC.
Despite the fact that it is premature to talk about the results of the first accreditation, this event is a landmark for our country.
First of all, accredited certification for compliance of Kazakh Halal products and services with international SMIIC standards is a new direction in demand both in Kazakhstan and in many trading partner countries of our state, where the demand for bona fide certification in the Halal segment is steadily growing.
In addition, the readiness of Kazakhstan Halal certification bodies to improve their status and work in an accredited capacity has been demonstrated, which significantly increases the level of expertise and confidence in Halal certificates from consumers.
In turn, the national accreditation system translates the possibilities and availability of the necessary resources to conduct an assessment in the direction of Halal.
Thus, prerequisites have been formed in Kazakhstan and concrete steps are being implemented towards the creation of a national Halal quality system – one of the promising areas of development worldwide. It should also be recalled that the purpose of accredited certification is to protect the interests, ensure the safety of consumers, and with regard to Halal products, it is also the preservation of the spiritual values of believers.
