First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev met with the population of Zhambyl region

Arman Shakkaliyev informed the population of the region about the measures to regulate prices for socially important food products, answered all the questions of the public and entrepreneurs.

According to the First Vice Minister, the Government managed to stop the growth rate of prices for basic foodstuffs. Over the past 6 weeks, it has not exceeded 0.1%, and since the beginning of the year it has amounted to 3.4%. For the current off-season, 139.5 thousand tons of products have been formed, 58.4 thousand tons have already been sold, including potatoes 27.5 thousand tons, carrots 11.0 thousand tons, onions 10.0 thousand tons, cabbage 9.9 thousand tons. To smooth out seasonal fluctuations for the off-season periods of 2024, work continues on contracting the autumn harvest of the current year. About 100.0 thousand tons of vegetable products have already been formed for these purposes, Arman Shakkaliyev noted.

During the meeting, residents of the region raised issues of modernization of markets, sale of local products, "gray" certificates, etc.

Thus, the head of the market «Zhibek Zholy» Sayat Zhanbolatov raised the issue of modernization of markets, in particular, what state support can be used by the owners of markets to bring them into a modern format.

Arman Shakkaliyev informed that the Ministry is working on launching state support tools. It is supposed to subsidize part of the interest rate of remuneration for construction projects, expansion of shopping centers, modern-format retail facilities and multifunctional complexes in commercial activities, with the exception of shopping and entertainment centers, with an area of at least one thousand square meters.

General Director of «Kokzhiek – 2030» АLLP Abdikali Begimbetov shared that he could not sell his products. Immediately the issue found its solution, the director of a large supermarket "Nurislam" Serik Karymsakov expressed his willingness to accept dairy products and offered to discuss in more detail with the director of LLP «Kokzhiek – 2030». At the end of the meeting with the population of the region, a briefing was held with the participation of media representatives.

In addition, during the trip, Arman Shakkaliyev and Akim of Taraz visited «Nurislam», a large retail chain in the region. Having familiarized himself with the prices at retail facilities, the First Vice Minister stressed that the state will continue to provide broad support to entrepreneurship. Arman Shakkaliyev got acquainted with the activities of the vegetable storage of«Organica», LLP, located in the Kordai district. The company specializes in onion storage. The production with a design capacity of 5000 tons was put into operation in 2015.

Also, the first vice minister in the akimat of the Kordai district met with the onion growers of the region, where the issues of forward purchase were discussed, which allows to contract with agricultural producers with the storage of products until the moment of sale.
