Kazakhstan approves requirements for farm greenhouses

The standard comes into force on May 1, 2023

The standard was developed by the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology in the implementation of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 23, 2018 №317 «On approval of the Rules for subsidizing the reimbursement of part of the expenses incurred by the subject of the agro-industrial complex during investments» по паспорту проекта №12 «Construction and expansion of the greenhouse complex» in order to establish standardized requirements for greenhouses farm type.

In order for greenhouses to be able to receive subsidies, the greenhouse will have to comply with the standard that establishes general requirements for farm greenhouses, the design and coating material of greenhouses, as well as the equipment of greenhouse complexes.

In order to fully and comprehensively take into account the problems of greenhouse production, as well as the early development of a standard for greenhouses that meets the needs of the industry, a working group was created from representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, greenhouse associations, heads of greenhouse complexes and farms.

According to the head of the Department of Crop Production Development of the Ministry of Agriculture Karlygash Nurikhanov, the early introduction of the standard is necessary for further making appropriate changes to the conditions of the greenhouse financing program.

In turn, Chairman of the Association of Greenhouses of Kazakhstan Kanat Koshmanov said that greenhouses are ready to adopt a national standard aimed at supporting greenhouses and further development of the greenhouse industry in Kazakhstan.
