22 tons of meat (lamb and beef) were exported to the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates organized the first export air Express in the UAE.
22 tons of mutton (12 tons) and beef (10 tons) produced in the Republic of Kazakhstan were sent to Abu Dhabi by air Express.
Kazakh meat producers have long been trying to master the market of the United Arab Emirates, where our products are highly valued for their environmental friendliness and taste. However, the complexity of logistics, as well as the length of procedures for confirming compliance with products based on the Halal standard adopted by the Institute of standardization and Metrology of the OIC countries (The organization of Islamic cooperation), until now, have been a serious obstacle to entering the Arab market.
"Kazakh meat will be supplied to all major trade networks of the UAE: Lulu, Carrefour, Union co-Op and others," Said Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Kazakhstan Mohammad Ahmad al-Jaber.
For the first air Express of Kazakhstan's export goods, it was decided to use a plane that brought a cargo of humanitarian aid from the UAE as part of the joint efforts of our countries to combat coronavirus.
According to the Ministry of trade and integration, previously, regular passenger flights were used to transport Kazakh meat for export in most cases (the cargo was sent in small batches of 2-3 tons).
The Ministry of trade also explained that since the decision on the cargo flight was made "on the go", exporters faced a difficult task to organize the party in the shortest possible time: "in conditions when regions and cities are closed for quarantine and checkpoints are everywhere, it was possible to organize the procurement and delivery of 20 tons of products," the MTI RK reported.
"Many thanks to the management of the Ministry of trade and personally to Minister Sultanov for controlling the entire process of cargo transportation from Almaty to Nur-Sultan for shipment. Thanks to their efforts, the product was provided with a "green" corridor along the route, " said Almat Berdenov, Director of "Optograd" LLP. He also expressed special gratitude to the Ministry of agriculture "for quickly organizing all necessary permits and certificates".
"Without the help of responsible competent managers, it would be simply impossible to organize the export of a large batch of exports under strict quarantine," the exporter concluded.
Minister of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said that MIT together with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kazakhstan is working on the possibility of using civil aircraft to send Kazakh export goods to the UAE on a weekly basis. Adding that "in preparation for the next flights, the experience gained in transporting cargo under quarantine will be used".
In General, the Ministry plans to further develop the transportation of domestic goods by air.
Despite certain difficulties faced by domestic exporters, the Ministry of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides widespread support. This allows manufacturers and exporters to save jobs, earn revenue, and place orders for the next batch of goods.
According to the Rules of reimbursement of expenses for subjects of industrial-innovative activities for promotion of domestic processed goods, list of domestic processed goods, which are partially reimbursed the cost of their promotion, kompensiruet to 50% of the cost of exporters for transportation by all modes of transport.

Traditional markets for meat produced in Kazakhstan are Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Kazakhstan exports meat mainly in chilled form (work is also being done to increase the export potential of frozen meat). At the same time, the supply of beef with domestic production exceeds the volume of consumption, which makes it possible to increase exports.
