Zero export customs duties have been imposed on all types of petroleum products

From April 1, in accordance with the order of the Minister of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, zero rates of customs duties will be applied for the export of all types of petroleum products (gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, liquefied gas, etc.). This decision was made in accordance with the instructions of the State Commission for ensuring the state of emergency.

According to the Ministry of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the collapse in world oil prices caused by the termination of the OPEC+ deal led to unprofitable exports of Kazakhstan's oil products. Moreover, the introduction of a state of emergency on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan has led to a significant reduction in domestic demand for petroleum products.

Together, both causes today lead to overstocking of the country's reservoir parks. In the future, this situation may lead to a decrease in the production of all types of petroleum products, including socially significant and export-oriented ones (gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, liquefied gas, etc.), and in the future to a complete shutdown of oil refineries.

"In order to create conditions for the export of currently unclaimed petroleum products on the domestic market, we have established zero export customs duties from April 1 to the end of 2020. In other words, the zero rate will apply to legal relations that have arisen since April 1," Minister of trade and integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov explained.
