The Government discussed the pool of agricultural projects for preferential investment

The pool of projects selected by akimats for consideration for inclusion in a Large project was discussed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin.

A large project is the replication of the experience of the North Kazakhstan region on preferential financing of agricultural enterprises, whose task is to ensure the production of socially significant food products to saturate the domestic market of the country and create new permanent jobs in rural areas.   Thanks to this mechanism, 21 dairy farms were built in Northern Kazakhstan in 2 years. As a result, today about 648 thousand tons of milk or 10.3% of the country's production is produced by the North Kazakhstan Region. The goals of the Large project are dairy farms (from 400 heads), vegetable storages (from 1000 tons), meat poultry farms (from 5000 tons of meat per year), as well as fish farming projects.

As Vice Minister of Agriculture Rustem Kurmanov noted at the meeting, following the results of the meeting of the Republican Budget Commission on February 28, the allocation of a budget loan in the amount of 100 billion tenge was approved for the implementation of this program. In order to provide regulatory support for the implementation of the program, the Ministry of Agriculture has developed a draft order to approve the procedure and conditions of lending. This is a loan of up to 10 years through an attorney (agent) at 2.5%, with a maximum amount of up to 5 billion tenge and a grace period of 24 months for the principal debt.

«Akimats of twenty regions presented projects totaling 415.7 billion tenge, but the budget approved the allocation of 100 billion tenge. Based on this, we propose this year to consider the direction of the allocated funds for the construction of industrial dairy farms. In subsequent years, gradually to others», — Rustem Kurmanov said.

Following the meeting, S. Zhumangarin instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the akimats, to once again review the pool of projects for the selection of the most ready for implementation and having a certain infrastructure.
