On January 24, 2020, at an expanded meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Head of state noted that " the legislation on technical regulation and accreditation was adopted more than 10 years ago and does not meet today's realities."
- The government should prepare the Law "on technical regulation" in a new version and ensure its adoption by the end of this year, - K. K. Tokayev announced his instruction at the time.
In this regard, the Ministry of trade and integration has developed
2 draft laws - "on technical regulation" and "on amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on technical regulation".
The key provisions of the draft laws are:
Harmonization of national legislation on technical regulation with the regulatory framework of the EEU.
Ensuring the reliability of conformity assessment procedures and improving them.
Improving the safety, quality and competitiveness of products through the development of a national certification system.
Improving state control in the field of technical regulation.
Acceptance of these changes will ensure:
- creating conditions for the competitiveness and quality of domestic products;
- improvement of state control in order to improve the safety and quality of products sold on the domestic market;
- ensuring the reliability of conformity assessment procedures;
- bringing national legislation in the field of technical regulation into line with supranational legislation within the framework of the EEU.
The main approaches of the draft laws were approved at the meeting of the interdepartmental Commission under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Currently, they are actively discussed and agreed with representatives of the public, the business community, as well as interested government agencies.
