The Agreement defines the procedure for removing technical barriers in the mutual trade of the Member States with third countries in respect of products subject to the technical regulations of the Union.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, the Agreement will create conditions for mutual recognition of conformity assessment results based on the determination of comparability of mandatory requirements established in the Union and in the territory of a third country.
«The agreement also stipulates that the equivalence of the procedures for accreditation of conformity assessment bodies applied in the member States and in a third country should be ensured. The proposed approach is aimed at promoting products», - the Deputy Prime Minister said.
To date, the trade turnover of non-primary goods between Kazakhstan and third countries in 2022 amounted to 48.6 billion US dollars, which is 33.5% higher than in 2021.
Also, the export of non-primary goods from Kazakhstan to third countries in 2022 increased by 24.8% and amounted to $ 18.9 billion. The main export countries of the Republic of Kazakhstan for processed goods are China, Uzbekistan, Turkey and the Netherlands.
