In the regions of Kazakhstan, the sale of onions from stabilization funds to retail facilities has begun.
On February 10, 2023, the representative of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Muratbek Amirbekov together with the Acting Chairman of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidar Abildabekov, as well as representatives of the Akimat of Zhambyl region visited the warehouses of farms of Zhambyl region to inspect the availability and condition of stored onions.
According to the head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial and innovative development of the Akimat of Zhambyl region, Aspandiyar Seisebayev, onions were purchased in the region in the autumn, today this vegetable was sold to about 40 commercial objects at a price of 115 tenge / kg, and stores, in turn, sell onions at 128 tenge/kg. Aspandiyar Seisebayev also noted that today there are enough stocks of the product, not only to provide retail facilities in Zhambyl region, but also for supplies to other regions.
During the trip, we visited the retail outlets of Taraz, in particular, one of the largest food store chains in the region, Yummy Basket. The chain of stores consists of 36 outlets in the region. Today, onion stocks in the retail chain amount to 21 tons, of which 5 tons are on the shelves of the store, and 16 tons are in the warehouse of the enterprise. The price per kilogram of onions in retail outlets is 128 tenge.
- Having visited vegetable storages in Zhambyl region, we see that onions are available in warehouses in sufficient quantity to meet the current demand of the domestic market of the country. As you know, this week the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan instructed to disperse stocks from the stabilization fund and begin commodity interventions, so the SEC should sell onion stocks, thereby providing the necessary amount of onions to retail facilities throughout the country”, – Aidar Abildabekov said.
The release of vegetables from the formed reserves is carried out within the framework of the application of existing measures to stabilize prices, including commodity interventions for the sale of vegetables from stabilization funds to retail objects at reduced prices in all regions of the country.
