The Kazakh business delegation headed by Nuraly Bukeikhanov, Director General of the Center for the Development of Trade Policy "QazTrade" and representatives of retail chains went on a working trip to Tajikistan to negotiate the supply of agricultural products to the Kazakh market.
"At a meeting with the Acting Chairman of the Khatlon region Davlatali Said, the issues of agricultural products supplies to Kazakhstan were discussed. As a result, agreements were signed on guaranteed supplies of 6 thousand tons of early onions in the off-season. The Tajik side provides us with a tariff discount for the transportation of products by rail," Nuraly Bukeikhanov said.
He also noted that additional volumes of agricultural products supplies to Kazakhstan are being worked out.
During the working trip, representatives of the Kazakh business delegation inspected the fields planted with onions. Agricultural producers of Tajikistan promise to ensure the quality and timeliness of product deliveries. The onion harvest in the Khatlon region will begin to be harvested in mid-April. This socially significant product will be on the shelves of Kazakhstan in late April-early May.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstanis consume about 25-30 thousand tons of onions per month. The confirmed reserves of this product in the country today amount to 152.4 thousand tons.
Recall that in order to ensure domestic demand for onions in Kazakhstan, a temporary ban on exports is introduced for a period of three months before the arrival of a new crop of agricultural products from neighboring countries.
