Topical issues of agriculture were voiced by farmers at a meeting with Zhumangarin in the North Kazakhstan region

At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin in the North Kazakhstan Region, agrarians voiced urgent questions. For example, Kintal Islamov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Atameken Agro", raised the problem of transportation of manufactured products, which he faces from year to year.

- There is a demand, there is a product, but we cannot deliver, and accordingly, we have difficulties because of this. We are preparing for the next season, field work, we need money to buy fertilizers, and due to the fact that the wagons do not arrive on time, we cannot get the money on time. We have contracts with European companies that need to supply products, and because of late deliveries, we are fined, and the fines are quite large, up to $ 1 million. The second question is about sunflower. The culture is new for the North Kazakhstan Region, and now, instead of popularizing it, export bans are being imposed. We suggest not to introduce quotas, as this ultimately affects the price of the manufacturer.

Sergey Zvolsky, Director of Astyk Stem LLP, about irrigation problems:

– We have been engaged in drip irrigation since 2010, we have grown from 20 to 250 hectares. And this is 50-60 tons of potatoes, 90-100 tons of carrots per hectare, on a small plot we can get high results. Our problem is limited water resources. We can't take enough water. We are told that when water is consumed from wells more than 50 cubic meters per day, it is no longer water, but a mineral. It is necessary to do research, and it is expensive. There is a proposal to distribute the volume of water consumption not by day, but by year. We water conditionally 3 months a year. In European countries, this issue is not relevant at all. We have been working with the SEC for 2 years, last year more than 1,000 tons of vegetables were handed over to the stable fund, this year - 700 tons. We give guaranteed volumes so that the consumer has cheap and high-quality products.

Yerlan Alpysov, Chairman of the Farmers' Union for North Kazakhstan Region, voiced the issues of the volume and quality of cheaper diesel fuel.

– Every year, cheaper diesel fuel is allocated to farmers for spring field harvesting. But diesel fuel is not allocated for plowing fumes, forage harvesting, removal of organic matter to the fields and other necessary work. At the same time, 80 percent of the fuel is supplied with ANPZ. This diesel fuel is expensive to transport, it does not withstand frosts. When cleaning is underway and the temperature drops below zero, the fuel freezes. It would be much more profitable if diesel fuel in the North Kazakhstan Region was allocated from the PNKHZ.

Serik Zhumangarin promised to study these and other issues raised by farmers and inform them about the results, on controversial issues, such as the introduction of export duties and tariff quotas for sunflower seeds, invited them to discuss to find the most acceptable option.
