The requirements for the quality of chocolate and cross-border admission to the circulation of securities on the exchanges of the EAEU countries were approved by the EEC Council

At the meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held online, the participants adopted a number of documents defining free cross-border admission to the placement and circulation of securities on the exchanges of the EAEU member states and strengthening the requirements for the manufacture of chocolate. The Kazakh side was headed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin.

The adopted Agreement on cross-border admission to the placement and Circulation of Securities at Organized auctions in the EEC member States is aimed at ensuring the freedom of issue and trading operations with securities on the common exchange market, creating conditions for the growth of liquidity of the exchange markets of the states of the single Eurasian Economic Space. This issue was initiated by a member of the Board (Minister) for Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC Bakytzhan Sagintayev and previously supported by the Kazakh side.

Also, by the decision of the EEC Council, amendments were made to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On Food Safety", which will protect consumers from being misled when buying chocolate products. In particular, there are special requirements for chocolate products prohibiting the use of vegetable oils (fats) (there are a number of exceptions), flavorings that mimic the chocolate taste. Officially introduced such identification indicators of chocolate products and cocoa products both with and without additives (bitter, dark, ordinary, sweet, milk, etc.), indicating the minimum percentage of cocoa solids, cocoa butter and other ingredients. The introduction of these uniform requirements for manufacturers of the EAEU perimeter countries as mandatory and monitoring of their compliance will create conditions for the development of fair competition.

The meeting also considered issues affecting the interests of the member countries of the common economic space in the areas of the formation of a single market for services, common markets for oil and petroleum products, macroeconomic policy, mutual bank guarantees in public procurement, the organization of centralized electricity trade in the common electricity market of the EAEU, the feasibility of changing the rules of duty-free import of goods and others.
