The Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan is working to ensure the affordability of socially significant food products, the list of which includes 19 items. The financing mechanism has been reformatted according to the "revolving scheme", the issue of organizing the forward purchase of early imported fruit and vegetable products from Central Asian countries during the off-season is being worked out. As of today, within the framework of measures to stabilize prices for socially important food products, more than 60 memoranda have been signed with large retail chains of Kazakhstan on not exceeding the trade premium on social products by 10%.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin at a meeting with the public of Kostanay region said that the Ministry will continue to regulate prices for socially important goods.

At the same time, the state is additionally studying the possibility of providing targeted assistance (accrual of funds) to unprotected categories of citizens. For this purpose, a project "Social Wallet" is being developed in Kazakhstan.

The "social wallet" will be created on the basis of the citizen's IIN automatically, money allocated by the state will flow to it. For the convenience of citizens, the "Social Wallet" module will be implemented in the eGov mobile application. All that will be necessary is to download the "Social Wallet" application, pass authorization and identification.

For example, to receive a voucher for hot meals at school, parents do not need to apply, an SMS notification comes automatically. Also, a child's transport card is linked to the "Social Wallet" to receive lunch at school.

The start of the implementation of the system is planned this year as part of a pilot project to provide free and preferential hot meals in secondary schools and the provision of medicines (within the framework of the OSMS, GOBMP) in Astana.

At the same time, by the end of this year, it is planned to integrate a Digital Family Card and a "Social Wallet", which will allow in the future to identify families in urgent need of social assistance and proactively provide state support measures.

The launch of the "Social Wallet" into commercial operation is planned from January 1, 2023.
