Yesterday, in Astana, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev held a meeting with the Special Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Frederik Vossenar, Deputy Secretary General of «UPOV» Peter Button and representatives of the business community of the Netherlands. The parties discussed the current situation in mutual trade and measures to support producers.
According to Kairat Torebayev, the Netherlands is among the TOP 10 main trading partners of Kazakhstan. Relations and cooperation between the countries are developing positively both at the business level and at the government level.
«Kazakhstan is diversifying its economy, and this opens up prospects for other sectors, such as agriculture, where the Netherlands has something to offer. In general, partnership in this direction can become an important initiative for global food security, therefore it is very important to create favorable conditions for the export of Kazakhstani goods to Europe», - the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan added.
It should be noted that the Netherlands has a developed transport and logistics infrastructure and is the logistics center of Europe for many types of products, especially agricultural. The development of transport links between the countries will ensure the availability of Kazakhstani goods to the markets of Western Europe.
For eight months of 2022, Kazakhstan exceeded the indicators of 2020. Today, exports amount to 3.6 billion US dollars, imports - 164 million US dollars. Oil and ferrochrome remain the main export commodities, followed by chemical products, food and petrochemical industries.
