Small business is taught the basics of export activities

QazTrade, together with the International Trade Center with the financial support of the EU, continues a series of trainings for Kazakhstani exporters.

Kazakhstan has set the task of providing comprehensive support to non-commodity exporters. At the same time, the emphasis is on supporting small and medium-sized businesses. Including enterprises taking the first steps to enter foreign markets or expanding the geography of their exports.

The single operator of state support and export development measures, QazTrade JSC, together with the International Trade Center with the support of the European Union, this week conducted a series of trainings for Kazakhstani entrepreneurs on international trade issues in Uralsk and Aktobe.

Entrepreneurs were told about the peculiarities of international trade rules, export risks, specifics of certification, compliance with standards and contracting.

- Our task is to give entrepreneurs knowledge that would help them evaluate their own strengths for exporting, and facilitate access to international markets. A lot of questions from SMEs are received on entering European markets, on the European system of technical regulation, - said the Project Coordinator, Director of the International Integration Department of QazTrade Amirbekova Ainur.

The participants of the trainings voiced their assessment of the events:

Assel Kereeva, women's club in Aktobe:

- The format of live communication made it possible to learn a lot of new things not only from professional speakers, but also from fellow entrepreneurs. The training turned out to be a very productive exchange of experience: a combination of theory and practice. And from this, the training, in my opinion, became even more useful.

Elmira Kalimova, Bauner LLP (production and sale of aluminum profiles used in the construction of building facades):

- Our company is young. But we have already managed to gain a foothold in the domestic market of Kazakhstan, and we intend to strengthen the export direction. We have already made the first export delivery to Uzbekistan. We got our first experience. But this is a neighboring country and this market, one might say, is related, and therefore relatively understandable. We were able to navigate it ourselves. But now we want to expand the geography of deliveries. We need support, we would like to get more knowledge on how to enter European markets. The training proved to be very helpful. Despite the fact that information is always available on different sites, live interactive communication is much more effective: it allowed us to study the experience of other exporters, get more information on how to prepare for export, where to get the necessary information, where to look for it. Because before that, unfortunately, we very often got confused in the sources, we could not identify it. And here we were told specific sites, registries, where we can find our products and get information.

25 companies took part in the trainings in the cities of Uralsk and Aktobe. Coming trainings with entrepreneurs are planned in the cities of Kyzylorda, Taraz and Almaty. Earlier, a series of trainings also took place in Shymkent and Nur-Sultan.

Moreover, within the framework of the project "QazTrade Academy" JSC "QazTrade" conducts free training programs for exporters.

So, until November 10, a free business workshop "Smart Export 2.0" is being held, aimed at exporters of all levels of preparedness, representatives of large, medium and small businesses, industry associations and business communities, as well as everyone who wants to gain new skills and knowledge in the field of export activities. As part of the workshop, thematic online webinars and seminars are held in Almaty, Shymkent and Nur-Sultan.

In 2021, over 900 participants from over 200 exporting companies took part in the Smart Export business workshop. They completed an 8-day online training course with 23 trainers, international and local experts.

The materials of all QazTrade Academy trainings are posted on the training portal https://www.qaztradeacademy.kz/.
