Serik Zhumangarin proposed to develop new schemes for the production and sale of sugar

On August 27, 2022, Acting Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin met with representatives of domestic sugar factories, industry associations, trade exchanges, traders and consultants to discuss and develop joint solutions to stabilize and increase prices for sugar and other food products.

The main topic of the meeting was the stabilization of prices and the availability of sugar in the country. As the president of the Kazakhstan Association of Sugar, Food and Processing Industry Aizhan Naurzgaliyeva noted at the meeting, restrictive measures taken against sugar exports by the main exporting countries led to a stir in the domestic market, but today the situation has already stabilized.

"Together we will consider and develop schemes for financing, organizing the processing and sale of sugar to provide factories with raw materials, and the country with this product at a stable price. I propose to do this in the coming days," Serik Zhumangarin suggested.

The participants of the meeting on the sugar industry supported this proposal.

Also on this day, Serik Zhumangarin held a meeting with representatives of the Meat Union, unions of gardeners, grain processors, organic producers and other experts in the field of agriculture to discuss issues and opportunities for the development of other sectors of the production of basic foodstuffs. The participants made many suggestions, it was decided to hold additional meetings to study each direction of production.
