The EEC has accepted Kazakhstan's proposal to extend the benefits for the import of aircraft

At the initiative of the Kazakh side, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to extend the validity of the tariff exemption for the import of certain types of civil passenger aircraft.

The issue was raised by Kazakhstan, as it affects the interests of domestic air carriers.

The extension of the import tariff exemption will allow Kazakh airlines to place orders for the supply of aircraft and increase the fleet of aircraft. In addition, it will also have a positive impact on the cost of domestic and international transportation.

So, for example, the operation of turboprop civil passenger aircraft in the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out on 10 regional socially significant routes, which makes it possible to ensure transport accessibility throughout the country. For air transportation on domestic regional routes, a 78-seat turboprop aircraft of Canadian production "Bombardier" DYC-8-402 Q400 is used. It is planned that in the next 5-6 years, Kazakh airlines will purchase at least 10 aircraft of this type.

In general, the demand of Kazakhstani airlines for additional aircraft of all types for the next 10 years is more than 150 units.

By the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on June 10, it was decided to extend the privilege for the import of turbojet aircraft with a passenger capacity of 110 to 300 people until December 31, 2031, and for turboprop airliners with a passenger capacity of up to 90 people – until the end of 2025.
