Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov spoke at a special session held within the framework of the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference.
The session is devoted to the challenges facing the multilateral trading system.
During his speech, Bakhyt Sultanov noted the importance of solving fundamental problems of the global trading system, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the global food crisis, the non-functioning dispute settlement system and the need for WTO reforms.
The head of the Kazakh delegation stressed that for Kazakhstan, as the largest landlocked country in the world, it is extremely important to have continuous relations with its trading partners.
"We believe that overcoming these difficulties requires a multilateral approach, which provides for the coordination of legal, economic and trade policy measures," Bakhyt Sultanov said.
