Today, in New Delhi (India), a solemn opening ceremony of the bust of the great Kazakh thinker Abai Kunanbayev took place in the San Martin Park square.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture of India Meenakshi Lekhi, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps.
- Abai is not only a great poet, but also a brilliant thinker, an outstanding educator. He encouraged people to master science, to join knowledge, glorified innovation and creation. Abai's legacy is of great value not only for our country, but also for all mankind," B. Sultanov said.
He noted that the installation of the bust of the Kazakh educator in the homeland of Mahatma Gandhi has a deep symbolic meaning. The ideas preached by Abai and Gandhi are closely intertwined.
So, the steppe genius has a catch phrase: "A person should differ from others in intelligence, knowledge, will, conscientiousness, good disposition." These qualities were appreciated by Mahatma Gandhi, who formulated his thought as follows: "Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny."
Bakhyt Sultanov noted that the installation of the bust of Abai will contribute to the further strengthening of spiritual cooperation between the two countries. The parties will continue to develop cooperation in the field of education, science and culture.
The solemn event dedicated to the opening of the bust of Abai in New Delhi was held as part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India to participate in the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, Industrial and Cultural Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of India.
