Bakhyt Sultanov : About export

Friends! I am in a hurry to share the good news!

Today we have several of them and all relate to exports.

The Head of State pays great attention to the development of foreign trade, and one of the indicators of the government's work that has been set is an increase in our exports. Our indicator is $41bn of non–primary exports by 2025.

In the first three months of the year, we have significantly increased trade turnover with a number of our key trading partners. The volume of mutual trade with the EU countries increased by almost 55.2% compared to January-March last year. With the United States - by 92.2%, with China – by 35.6%. And our exports have grown significantly everywhere: both raw materials (oil) and processed goods.

And the next news will allow us to expand the horizons and volumes of supplies abroad. Today we have received from the UAE International Accreditation Center an official document on the accreditation of the Kazstandart laboratory with the right to certify Halal products!

I am convinced that the possibility of obtaining an international Halal certificate within the country will be an incentive for increasing exports. If now enterprises spend from $7 thousand to $30 thousand per batch to obtain a Halal certificate (in the importing country), then the cost of certification in Kazakhstan will vary from 90 to 700 thousand tenge ($ 1.5 thousand) for serial production (!).

The results of the certification of this laboratory will be recognized in the territory of all Arab States of the Persian Gulf (Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia). And potentially we can increase exports to other regions: CIS, Turkey, Iran... Especially since there are more than 4,200 manufacturers of Halal products in Kazakhstan: food products, textiles, pharmaceuticals, household chemicals and cosmetics…

The demand for Halal in the world is huge: the volume of imports of halal products in the world is estimated at more than $ 250bn, and the three largest importing countries are the countries of the Middle East and North Africa: Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt.

It is expected that by 2024 the global halal goods market may reach $2.4trillion. We will try to create all conditions so that there is as much of Kazakhstan's share in these trillions as possible.

And by the way, our laboratory is the only one accredited according to international requirements in the EAEU and Central Asia. This means that we are becoming a regional hub for Halal: entrepreneurs from Asia, the EAEU and the CIS can use our platform to assess the conformity of their products and gain access to the markets of the Persian Gulf countries.
