From МК12 we expect significant results for the global trading system-B. Sultanov

On December 2-3 this year, a round table was held in Geneva for representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to effectively prepare for the 12th WTO Ministerial conference in Nur-Sultan.

The event was organized by the" center for multilateral negotiations " together with the world economic forum, the world trade organization and the Permanent mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN and other international organizations in the WTO.

The Kazakh delegation headed by the Minister of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Sultanov included representatives of the Senate of the Parliament, the ministries of foreign Affairs, agriculture, trade and integration.

During the event, Bakhyt Sultanov noted the importance and great responsibility for Kazakhstan to hold the WTO Ministerial conference in 2020. As the Minister said, Kazakhstan is an active supporter of the multilateral trading system and is interested in the Conference in Nur Sultan to Bring tangible results. "We are ready to contribute to the joint work on the adoption of mutually beneficial decisions between WTO members in order to achieve significant results for the global trading system," the Minister added.

In addition, during the discussion, the Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament Olga Perepechina raised the issue of the role of Parliament in the WTO Ministerial conference. The representative of the WTO Secretariat announced the practice of holding an inter-parliamentary conference.On the eve of the Ministerial Conference, the importance of the participation of parliamentarians in the national delegations of WTO members was stressed.

Also, the Kazakh side was familiar with the recommendations of recognized international experts, ambassadors to the WTO, high-ranking WTO officials and other international organizations. The participants of the meeting exchanged explanations on the solution of topical issues of development of the multilateral trading system, the strategy of negotiations in the context of the WTO Ministerial conference, noted the importance of the role of Minister B. The importance of the upcoming WTO Ministerial conference in Nur Sultan to strengthen the existing international trading system.
