On the extension of the terms of marking shoes

Mandatory digital marking of shoes started in Kazakhstan in November last year. Until April 1, 2022, entrepreneurs were allowed to sell unmarked shoes, after that date, only digitized shoes were supposed to remain on the shelves.

Due to numerous appeals from entrepreneurs, it was decided to extend until April 01, 2023 the timing of marking shoes imported to Kazakhstan until November 01, 2021.

By the way, earlier, for the convenience of sellers, mandatory requirements for filling in the weight and size characteristics of shoes and posting photos were canceled.

In addition, to support small businesses, on March 1, 2022, the operator of the labeling project launched a campaign for free labeling of shoe residues. Applications for participation in the promotion are accepted until June 1, 2022 inclusive. The promotion is a one-time event and allows entrepreneurs to print marking codes at the expense of the operator.

Recall that on March 01, 2019, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 230-VI ratified the Agreement on Labeling of Goods in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. It will strengthen control over the turnover of goods in the EAEU, minimizing gray turnover. Consumers will also receive a guarantee that the purchased goods are legal. Labeling of goods will be mutually recognized in the EAEU countries and will allow us to export labeled Kazakhstani products to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Armenia.
