It is planned to create a trade and industrial center on the western border of Kazakhstan and Russia

With the participation of the Trade Representative Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation, an online conference "Russia - Kazakhstan. Prospects for interaction of border regions".

The event was organized by the Diplomatic Club "Astana" - a platform for establishing business partnerships. The online conference was attended by more than 50 representatives of business circles and government organizations.

The welcoming speech was delivered by the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan Andrey Vladimirovich Babko, who noted the positive dynamics of the growth of trade and economic ties between Russia and Kazakhstan.

The conference participants were also welcomed by the Deputy Trade Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation Nurzhan Kairzhanovich Sadykov, who noted the need to use the transit potentials of border regions in the conditions of reconfiguration of logistics chains, and also drew attention to the existing industrial potential of the West Kazakhstan region, including at the site of the Eurasia trade and industrial hub being created.

Taking into account the positive dynamics of trade turnover (27% growth by the end of 2021, or a little more than 500 million dollars), there is an unrealized transit and logistics potential between the Samara and West Kazakhstan regions, as well as points of mutual growth of trade and industrial ties in the food industry, in the petrochemical and construction fields.

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced the adoption of a Unified strategy for the development of cross-border hubs, within the framework of which 5 cross-border trade centers will be created and modernized in Kazakhstan. It is planned to create a trade and industrial center on the western border of Kazakhstan and Russia, which will be located in close proximity to the largest regional markets.

Following the results of the conference, the participants reached an agreement on the organization of B2B meetings between the companies of West Kazakhstan and Samara regions this year.
