ON SIMPLIFICATION OF PROCEDURES FOR IMPORT OF CONSUMER GOODS TO KAZAKHSTAN

At the meeting of the Operational Headquarters, chaired by the PM, a number of proposals of the business community were announced to simplify the procedures for importing consumer goods to Kazakhstan. The proposed measures are temporary in nature and are conditioned by the current situation on world markets related to interruptions in the supply of food and other goods of daily consumer demand.

Thus, the proposals voiced by the business concern the temporary simplification of a wide list of requirements for consumer labeling established by technical regulations, including the mandatory availability of information on the packaging in the state language.

The relevant information, primarily in the state language, will be communicated to consumers using alternative methods, such as, for example, commodity QR codes on the shelves containing all the necessary information about the goods.

The proposed measures are aimed at supporting domestic entrepreneurs, ensuring the stability of the supply of goods to Kazakhstani consumers, reducing the growth of prices for consumer goods, through the use of alternative, less expensive and modern ways of communicating information about goods to citizens.
